Hey peeps!
So I made this blog today for my English class and I actually kind of like it so far. I haven't ever really been about the blogging thing but there's nothing wrong with trying something new!
I hope you can somewhat feel out my vibe that I have going on here on this page. For me life is all about finding the best music and getting my influences from it. You can see that I myself am a musician and I have been one since I was about 8 years old. I have pictures of my most recent drumming gigs with the 49ers and some from a few DJ gigs I have had over the summer. The colors I chose for the page represent the darkness of a club environment with the bright colors that can remind you of things related to parties and music.
Everything in my life is important to me, but there are only a few major things that take up a majority of my current life. My jobs are extremely important to me mainly because they keep me financially comfortable. I am a department manager at the Guitar Center in San Mateo, CA and I am also a performing musician. As I said earlier, music is a huge part of my life and I doubt anything will ever change that. It keeps me sane and allows me to explore my creative mind. I get my biggest musical influences from recent music that comes out. I don't personally stick to one genre or artist because I appreciate anything I hear if it makes audible sense.
Having such an extensive musical background is what has led me to where I am in school today. I am a Music Recording Technology major attempting to open my own recording studio in the future. All of my instructors tell me that I have the right attitude and energy to make something out of my music. That gives me a lot of courage to stand out and try new things because I am actually improving with music every day.
Within my English class I hope to pull away a few extra skills for paperwork that I'll end up filling out in the future. It will allow me to analyze possible future contracts to make sure I can get the best out of my career possible. Seeing as English is used every day, whether it be for school, recreation, or work, I am hoping to improve a lot on my skills in writing and thinking critically about decisions I will have to make in the future.
Music is going to help me get through college because as a performing musician I am expected to be places at a certain time. This means that if I am even a minute or two late, either I am no longer able to do my performance or I play for free. It's an amazing life lesson to know that everything relates to showing up on time. It gives me discipline and prepares me for even more important things to come in my future. I would never look back and be ashamed of the route I chose for a career because if I actually make it in the music industry, I will have done something that most people thing is nearly impossible.
Thanks for reading!
